General availability of Microsoft Dynamics NAV2016

On October 5, 2015 Microsoft announced the general availability of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 as well as deeper interoperability with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Office 365.

You now have more capabilities in mobility, business insight, and cloud services:

  • New streamlined, easy-to-use native apps for all devices and operating systems

  • Pre-built Microsoft Power BI dashboards and data connections

  • Native integration with Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online

  • Expanded document management, workflow, and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) capabilities

  • Expanded extensibility and connectivity capabilities

  • New option to deploy Microsoft Dynamics NAV on Microsoft Azure SQL Database

In addition, we have announced the Microsoft Dynamics NAV managed service. This enables Dynamics partners to:

  • Easily offer SaaS solutions to their customers, deployed on Azure infrastructure and managed by Microsoft Cloud Engineers

  • Reduce the operational, technical and administrative complexity of deploying and maintaining multi-tenant NAV solutions in the cloud

  • Leverage the latest and greatest Microsoft technology

To take advantage of these new capabilities, here’s what to do:

  • New customers should order online using Order Central

  • Existing customers with an active enhancement plan will be automatically be upgraded to Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016

  • Existing Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 customers with an active enhancement plan are entitled to request a transition to upgrade through Order Central
